It is a set of poetry verses in three sections..deliberately.. so that it can be used for a grandson of any age from child to adult. If for a very young child, simply skip the middle section. The middle section could also be altered to suit a teenager, a college student, a married man etc by changing the 4th line "Ever so tall" to "Playing football" "Dressed for a ball" "Husband, father and all"

A grandson is love
In blue, usually so
A bundle of happiness
With face all aglow
A competitive boy
With a tear streaked face
Crying because
He has just lost a race.

Then all of a sudden,
No longer small,
He's a handsome young man
Ever so tall
A dreamer, a schemer,
No two days the same
What is a grandson?
It's more than a name

He's a pleasure, a treasure,
A comfort each day
Loving and caring
In his own special way
He's a sense of contentment
Felt deep inside
Bringing a lifetime
Of pleasure and pride.
