for listening and caring,
for giving and sharing,
but, especially, for just being you!

“Walk a little slower, Dad,”
Said the child so small.
“I’m following in your footsteps
And I don’t want to fall.
Sometimes your steps are very fast,
Sometimes they’re hard to see;
So walk a little slower, Dad,
For you are leading me.
Someday when I’m all grown up,
You’re what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child
Who’ll want to follow me.
And I would want to lead just right,
And know that I was true;
So walk a little slower, Dad,For I must follow you.”

A father is a friend on whom you can depend
He makes you feel you are never alone
He has a very special way of cheering up a day
And looks upon your problems as his own

He shares your every dream and adds to your esteem
He helps you and does favors, big and small
He cares with all his heart he`s loved you from the start
A father is the dearest friend of all.

Thank you Father for all that you've done,
To me, and for me...and not forgetting the fun,
I know I don't say it often enough,
You know that I'm not very good at this stuff
But thank you Dad

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,

The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle’s flight,

The joy of a morning in Spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,

Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it … GrandDad

Father's Day
a time for warm thoughts
and fond memories,
for expressing
the feelings and words
that often go unspoken
for letting
those special people
in our lives know
that they are loved
and appreciated
